It may have been on Friday night, but Ayoze Perez’s performance against Leicester City is more than worth shouting about, even today on Sunday. The Spaniard did a great job against the Foxes, scoring the winner as Rafa Benitez masterminded a 1-0 win on the road, bringing up ten Premier League wins for the season.

At the age of just 25-years-old, the Spanish attacker is an absolutely incredible addition to the Newcastle United squad. Rafa Benitez has been doing a great job at St James Park and he’s massively helped the club by improving the players he’s had at his disposal instead of going out and signing new faces to do the job. That has mainly been because of the financial restraints, but players like Ayoze have benefitted.
Friday night’s strike from Ayoze was his seventh of the season in the Premier League, and it was a cracking finish from the attacker. Having ghosted in towards the front-post and got onto the end of a cross from Matt Ritchie his header flew past Kasper Schmeichel and into the back of the net, ensuring all three points travelled back to St James Park with Perez and the rest of the Geordies.

The Geordies were in full voice at the King Power Stadium yesterday, and they were all loving Perez throughout as he fired them to their tenth win of the season.
