Newcastle fans on Twitter were all delighted with their point yesterday at Dean Court. Despite leading 1-0 at half time the Magpies needed a late, late Matt Ritchie thunderbolt to take a point back to St James Park, although it wouldn’t have been possible without the ever-impressive Paul Dummett.

The four-cap Welsh international was sublime throughout the tie as he completed what was his first full 90 minutes in the Premier League since the 2nd January when he managed the entire game in a 2-0 loss against Manchester United. However, this outing was a far more successful one as the left-back captained his side to a draw, and more than played his part with some world-class defending.
The moment of the match for Dummett was easy to pick. With the ball lopping up and into the back of the net with Martin Dubravka beaten, Dummett defied physics as he got up and overhead-kicked the ball off the line. It really was a heroic moment and one that ultimately would win his side a point, as without that goal-line block the game would have finished 3-2 to the home side.
