Newcastle United are set to battle it out with Brighton and Hove Albion and Crystal Palace for Gio-Renys Felicia in the upcoming summer transfer window, according to Football Insider.

As per the outlet, a recruitment source has said that he has caught the eye of scouts in the North East as they prepare to launch a move for him.

Indeed, the 16-year old has been enjoying a relatively impressive 2019/20 season having broken into the Under 17’s team at Feyenoord, where he has since managed to score one goal and make a further two assists in seven games in all competitions (via Transfermarkt).

Felicia also made his international debut for the Netherlands’ Under-15 side in May of last year and will surely be hoping to break through the ranks into the more senior age groups.

Being able to operate from both the right and left flanks, the winger plays in similar positions to Allan Saint-Maximin, although the 23-year old has also operated from down the middle in this campaign (per Transfermarkt).

Saint-Maximin has been a revelation in the Premier League so far in this term, scoring three goals and making four assists in 25 matches, as he has also created eight big chances and averaged 4.8 successful dribbles and 1.3 key passes per appearance, according to Sofascore.

Felicia would be hoping that he can make as much of an impact as the Frenchman has at the Magpies, but he will still need time to develop given his relatively young age.

Nevertheless, the Dutchman could be one for the future as the Tyneside club look to build at St. James’ Park.

Geordies, would Felicia be a good signing? Comment below!
