Newcastle United have been offered the chance to sign Watford ace Troy Deeney, according to The Chronicle.
As per the outlet, the Tyneside club are on a list of other teams in the Premier League who have been offered his services in the summer transfer window.

However, the 32-year old is likely to command a big wage packet, as he is believed to be on a relatively high £100,000 per week at Vicarage Road, in addition to a transfer fee.
Deeney is also said to want a two-year deal should he move as the Hornets are keen to offload their big earners after their relegation from the top flight down to the EFL Championship at the end of the 2019/20 season.
Speaking to talkSPORT (via The Chronicle) recently, the WFC club-captain claimed that he had an opportunity to move to Leicester City under Claudio Ranieri after their famous EPL title win and the chance to play UEFA Champions League football, but he did not ask to move to the King Power Stadium.
Perhaps then Deeney would be a hard person to shift on, but if the Magpies can come up with an adequate deal, the he may well be on his way at St. James’ Park.
Indeed, the striker is a bit of a goal-poacher, having scored 160 goals in total in 528 games in his club career playing for both Watford and Walsall (per Transfermarkt).

With experience in the Premier League as well, Deeney may well be a shrewd signing by Steve Bruce if he can get a deal over the line.
