The Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping that Jurgen Klopp can build on the team he’s built this season and push the Reds forward in search of his first trophy during his time at Anfield.
The German coach has brought a dynamic and energetic attacking style to his team for the Anfield faithful in the back room to enjoy for the majority of the season. No doubt there has been a few dismal displays and defensively they have not been great, before the arrival of Virgil Van Dijk of course.
However, Klopp has, on the whole, made this Liverpool team into one of the most exciting sides to watch in Europe. Although, there are still one or two players who should be putting in a little more effort if they want to be here next season, amid what is hopefully a much closer title challenge.
With that in mind, some of our punters are having a discussion over which TWO players need to up their game and fight for their Anfield futures in the reminding months of the season and they have settled on these two…
Simon Mignolet

The goalkeeper has been involved in a war for the first starting place between the sticks, one that he looks to have lost in recent weeks. Mignolet’s Liverpool career surely hangs in the balance and it will take a huge push for him not to be leaving in the summer.
However, the Belgian still has time and games to prove he can be the number one or a worthy number two next season should he be given another chance by Klopp to do so.
Jordan Henderson

The Liverpool captain came in for a lot of stick during the season, and with the team currently around him, it may be a time very soon where they outgrow the England man. Klopp has a youthful and fast-paced team, something that Henderson has struggled to adapt to this season and at times has looked a player of his depth.
Henderson needs to prove to the manager and the fans that he can be around for many years to come in the centre of the park, much like his predecessor Steven Gerrard was.
