Nottingham Forest: Fans gush over Samba Sow’s performance against Leeds United

Samba Sow’s name was one that was mentioned in very high esteem on Twitter on Saturday night after Nottingham Forest managed to get past Leeds United with a superb 2-0 scoreline.

The Tricky Trees took the lead in the first half through Sammy Ameobi before Tyler Walker ensured Sabri Lamouchi’s side would take all three points at home when he found the back of the net just moments before the final whistle (Sky Sports).

Indeed, the win was a mammoth result for Forest as it meant that they would be just a point behind the Whites in their pursuit for an automatic promotion spot for Premier League football next season, whilst it also leaves them just two points from West Bromwich Albion at the top of the Championship ladder (Sky Sports).

Whilst fans would have been delighted with the overall performance they saw from their players, a search on Twitter would show that Sow’s name was frequently mentioned – and in a positive light.

The 30-year-old Malian played an instrumental role in helping Nottingham Forest to secure all three points, as he managed to achieve a whopping eight total tackles, one interception and three clearances when tasked with his defensive duties (WhoScored).

Clearly, statistics like that make it seem almost impossible not to praise the experienced midfielder for his contribution and many of the City Ground faithful took to Twitter to wax lyrical about him.

Here are just some of their reactions to Sow’s latest display…
