Rangers fans here in the Tavern are anxious ahead of their Scottish Cup semi-final, as supporters don’t fancy their chances against Old Firm rivals Celtic.
Indeed, the Bluenoses will be desperate to finish the seasons strongly with some silverware after securing a European spot for next season, as Graeme Murty’s future is still firmly under the microscope. Although, victory in their Scottish Cup semi-final against Celtic could see him secure a future at the club, but he does face an uphill task as they’re yet to beat the Hoops in the current campaign.
Rangers face Celtic at Hampden Park in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup later on today, with anything less than a victory being seen as a disaster by many of our local residents. However, it won’t be an easy task as the Scottish Premiership champions are in great form, having gone unbeaten in their last seven games in all competitions.
So without further ado, these TWO Rangers stars need to ruin Celtic to prove their worth…
Jason Cummings
Jason Cummings has been a goal machine in the Scottish Cup so far this season, having scored a hat-trick against Falkirk in the quarter-finals.
Although, many of our local residents believe that he still needs to prove himself from here on in, and he has the perfect opportunity to do so with bitter rivals Celtic up next for Rangers.
Nevertheless, the 22-year-old needs to ruin Celtic to prove he deserves a future at the club, as he’s failed to score goals on a regular basis in the current campaign with Alfredo Morelos keeping him out of the side.
Sean Goss
The on loan Queens Park Rangers midfielder has been one of the signings of the January transfer window for Murty, but he has had his critics in recent times after producing a couple of dull performances.
Sadly, many of our local residents believe that the 22-year-old has let himself down in recent games as the club may not return for him in the summer, but a fine performance against the Hoops may just turn a number of heads.
Therefore, Goss desperately needs to prove his worth with an accomplished display against Celtic, as another poor performance could seriously harm any hopes he may have about a future at Ibrox.
