The Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern were delighted by the performance of their second-string side against Leicester City yesterday evening, but they were not completely satisfied by the display of Claudio Bravo.
Manchester City travelled to the Midlands last night looking to maintain their optimistic hopes of winning four trophies this season. It looked as if City were set to coast through to the semi-finals with a narrow 1 nil victory last night, until Bobby Madley awarded The Foxes an extremely dubious penalty in the 97th minute after Kyle Walker had tangled with Demarai Gray inside the penalty area. Jamie Vardy confidently stepped up to dispatch the resulting spot-kick and take the game to extra-time.
The scores remained level after the 30 minutes of additional time at The King Power Stadium, and for the second time this season, penalties were needed to determine City’s fate in the Carabao Cup.
Claudio Bravo was the penalty shoot-out hero against Wolves in the 4th round after he saved 2 spot-kicks to ensure City’s progression, and Bravo was once again City’s saviour last night as he denied Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez to send City into the penultimate round of the competition.
But despite Bravo’s heroics in City blue against Leicester, there were still plenty of supporters who were eager to criticise his overall performance on Twitter.
Although there is no doubting that his record in penalty shoot-outs is exemplary, his contribution in open play is still subject to plenty of criticism from the Manchester City fans.
Here’s what some of The Citizens had to say about Bravo’s performance…
I think Claudio bravo could be the worst keeper I’ve seen play professional football

He does well at penalties just the rest of his game that Clownio doesn't do well in. As for the celebrations at the end it was like a non league side winning and taking a big scalp

the mans's got butterfingers when he plays normal but pens are his thing. Weird. Ederson seems to stop shots and pass like our goodmunsun or cork but hasnt saved pens like bravo has. that man willy still the beast of penalty heroics to be fair
