On the way out: 82% of polled Tottenham fans think Fernando Llorente is on the verge of a Spurs exit

Tottenham have stagnated a little bit this season, with the Lilywhites not exactly looking their best under Mauricio Pochettino. They’re still getting results, indeed they’ve enjoyed one of their best starts under their manager, but that doesn’t mean they’ve been as exciting to watch or as lethal in the league.

At present, they’re not challenging for the Premier League title, and that’s problematic, given that over the last few years they’ve always been there or thereabouts.

One reason why they haven’t looked as great this term is down to a few individual performers. Several players just haven’t been up to par, and that’s certainly the case for Fernando Llorente.

The Spaniard hasn’t been able to match his form for Swansea City, and given how reliant Spurs are on Harry Kane, that’s a problem. With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, and given his poor recent form, we recently made the case that he could well be on the verge of an exit from North London.

This is something that fans seem to agree with. We asked them whether he’s on the verge of an exit, and in response, 82% of those polled think that he is.

Llorente, clearly, has lost the faith of the Tottenham faithful, and given his lack of action, it’s evident that he’s lost Mauricio Pochettino’s, too.

Tottenham need someone reliable, and Llorente isn’t that anymore.

This move has been a failure all around, and both parties should – and likely will – move on sooner, rather than later.
