The Leeds United fans in the Transfer Tavern can barely remember their days in the top-flight, so they’ll want Thomas Christiansen to help guide them back to the big time soon.

Our landlord has said it before and he’s saying it again, Leeds United belong in the top flight of English football.

It still feels weird to him that they aren’t there, despite being out of the Premier League for well over a decade now.

Garry Monk’s Leeds side came within five points of a play-off spot last season so fans of the club will be hoping that new boss, Thomas Christiansen can take them that one step further and give them a chance of promotion.

Leeds got off to a good, if not nervy start at Bolton in their opening game of the season where they won 3-2.

Three points to kick off your new season is the perfect start and Christiansen will be looking to build on that.

Should they make it to the Premier League then who knows how long they could stay there, there are so many deciding factors in a club’s relegation.

Obviously, a big factor is the players and whilst the club’s squad isn’t old, they have a few youngsters waiting on the sideline to really show what they can do.

On that note, here are two Leeds starlets you need to keep an eye on….

Ronaldo Viera

His name alone is enough to get everyone excited.

Ronaldo Viera was named the young player of the year at Leeds in April and recently signed a new contract with the club, keeping him at Elland road until 2021.

His versatility means he can play as an attacking midfielder, central midfielder, or a defensive midfielder.

He is a useful player for Leeds and has the potential to turn into a superstar.

Lewie Coyle

Not necessarily a youngster but at 21 Lewie Coyle has a good future ahead of him,

The full-back recently signed a new contract at the club before a loan move to Fleetwood for the season.

A very attacking minded full-back, Coyle loves to push forward and can use his dribbling abilities to good effect at times.

Defensively he is solid too so if he can put in a good shift at Fleetwood then he could return to Yorkshire as a first team regular.
