The Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern will be casting an eye over the on-goings at Bayern Munich at the moment. A number of the senior squad are to be sold as part of an overhaul this summer and, whilst City may want to poach a few of Bayern’s stars, the fans couldn’t think of anything worse than Jerome Boateng returning, which could be on the cards according to Sport BILD.

As a centre-back, at the age of 29, Jerome Boateng should be flourishing in the peak of his career, so it seems strange that the Bundesliga’s serial winners, Bayern Munich, would want to part with the colossal defender. However, after seven years at The Allianz Arena following his departure from Manchester City back in 2011, the German is calling time on his Bayern career and pursuing a new challenge.
It won’t be cheap for anyone to prise the defender out of Munich, though, as the club will only be listening to offers upwards of 50 million euros, according to the report. Boateng will have a number of suitors who will be keen to pay his transfer fee despite the extortionate asking price. Despite the interest from City, the fans don’t want him to return to the Etihad, which is understandable considering they recently splashed the cash on Aymeric Laporte.

The City fans propping our bar up don’t want to see funds spent on another centre-back and especially not on Boateng who the fans still have a heavy dislike for after his unsuccessful stint at The Etihad.
