With Jurgen Klopp set to be handed a transfer war-chest of around £200m in the summer, this bartender is often finding pieces of scrap paper around the Reds’ booth here in the Transfer Tavern with lists of players supporters want written upon them.
Although there are some standout marquee names that crop up such as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and James Rodriguez, Fulham’s 16-year-old left-back Ryan Sessegnon appears frequently, so Kopites are thrilled at claims he’s a player their side are after. Indeed, Goal and The Times’ Paul Joyce have both revealed over the course of this week that the 16-year-old is a wanted man at Anfield, with the club seeing him as a viable long-term option at left-back following his stunning breakthrough season at Craven Cottage.
The teenager looks set to be the next emerging talent to step up to the Premier League, following in the footsteps of the likes of Dele Alli, and already boasts the record for being the Championship’s youngest ever goalscorer. He might have a long way to go in terms of being a top-level footballer, but Liverpool fans really are excited about this rumour…
Sessegnon could very much be the player you’ll bemoan the club for not signing in the future, much like Dele Alli. So stop complaining!

Paul Joyce expects Liverpool to win the race for Sessegnon! Absolutely sensational signing if true! Huge news! #LFC

Ryan Sessegnon would be an excellent signing, an elite talent for his age. One people would moan Liverpool missed out on when he develops.

If Sessegnon comes in for the future and Milner is still first choice LB next season, I have no problem with that.

Can’t wait for Ryan Sessegnon & Trent AA to joint-top-score with 40 each from fullback in all our treble winning seasons across the 2020s.

@JOZ9T9 Sessegnon is a must, he’s the next big thing but not the answer to our LB issues. Moreno out and a quality replacement needed!
— G Dog (@GHL72) 11 April 2017
@DeanFlanagan Sessegnon and Alexander as fullbacks next season, personally i find that prospect mouth watering.

Sessegnon will be an absolutely outstanding buy.

However, there is some negativity, with plenty of supporters worried about another season of James Milner at left-back…
I mean sessegnon is good but not if that means having Milner as first choice…. I really don’t get klopp he makes it so hard for himself
— Headless Chicken (@perilladerafa) 11 April 2017
even with Ryan Sessegnon we need a first choice LB cnt ask Milner to fill the void another full season
— Julien (@King_Julien1984) 11 April 2017
Sessegnon looks a talent but to go into a new campaign with just him and Milner at left-back when we could be in the UCL seems unwise.
— Leanne Prescott (@_lfcleanne) 10 April 2017
Ryan Sessegnon shouldn’t be our main Left Back target he should be a replacement for Moreno and then bring in a solid one for our main
