The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern were dealt a huge shock last night.
Indeed, reports emerged suggesting Red Devils legend Rio Ferdinand was set to switch his career towards the boxing arena, after largely appearing as a pundit on BT Sport since his retirement back in 2015.
The 38-year-old confirmed he was to attempt to gain a license from the British Boxing Board of Control and follow UFC superstar Conor McGregor into the world of boxing.
Having kept himself fit since retirement, the ex-England star looks like his eyes are set on the squared circle.
As you can imagine, the news surrounding Ferdinand – who won six Premier League titles and the Champions League during a 12-year stint at Old Trafford, has certainly sparked a reaction online.
