But the Red Devils are yet to recruit any forwards, or a striker capable of replacing Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s goals last season.
Many believe Mourinho’s side will surmount a title challenge next season, but with United now back in the Champions League, their fans do not want to simply make up the numbers.

Kylian Mbappe
It seems Manchester United are one of three teams who are willing to cough up the money for Mbappe.
Paris Saint-German and Real Madrid are also keen, but Jose Mourinho should go all out to sign the youngster who was simply sensational for Monaco last season.
Though a different kind of player entirely to the recently departed Ibrahimovic, the ridiculously talented teen would be the ideal long-term replacement to lead their line.
Would be a significant signing both on and off the pitch.
Ivan Perisic
The Inter Milan star reportedly wants to join the Red Devils and will apparently reject the offer of a new contract from the Serie A giants.
Inter are thought to want around £44m for the Croatia international. While that may initially seem overly expensive, the former Wolfsburg man is exactly the type of hard-working wide player who’d flourish under Mourinho’s stewardship.
Perisic, Mbappe and Henrikh Mkhitaryan could make a devastating trio this season.
Nemanja Matic
The Serbian’s arrival appears to be a matter of ‘when’ rather than ‘if’. The rumours are that Matic has already agreed personal terms at Old Trafford, but is waiting for the green light to be given by Blues boss Antonio Conte.
Matic’s arrival would allow Paul Pogba the freedom to get forward and join the attack – something he was restricted in last season.
Breaking up opposition attacks, the Blues star would bring some bite back to the engine room operating at the Theatre of Dreams.
