Across Mauricio Pochettino’s time in charge at White Hart Lane, the Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern have often been found boasting about their prowess in the transfer market.
It seems ever since they largely wasted the then-world record fee they received for Gareth Bale in 2013, the Lilywhites have pulled off some great coups.
Still, the summer just gone has been a disappointment in that regard, with huge sums of money wasted on the likes of Vincent Janssen and Moussa Sissoko.
It’s clear Pochettino need to ask his chairman, Daniel Levy, for extra funds if he really is going to keep the side challenging towards the summit of the Premier League in the years to come.
Clearly, the imminent stadium move will have an effect on just how tight the purse strings are on Hotspur Way, though it’s crucial Spurs don’t truly lose the momentum they picked up last season altogether.
With that in mind, here are THREE players rated £20m+ (using Transfermarkt) Pochettino should ask Levy to sign.
Isco

Definitely a hugely ambitious move, though it’s obvious Tottenham need some star quality to truly cement their place in the English elite.
Linked with a move to north London, Isco isn’t a regular starter at Real Madrid and would really be a coup for Pochettino.
Could have a similar impact to that of Rafael van der Vaart’s all those years ago, he’s that good.
Riyad Mahrez

The man whose heroics helped prevent Spurs from winning the title last term, it’s fair to say Riyad Mahrez hasn’t been up to scratch this time around.
Still, the Algerian is a wonderfully gifted footballer and would give Pochettino far more of an unpredictable element in the final third.
Morgan Schneiderlin

Hugely rated at Southampton under Pochettino’s watch, Morgan Schneiderlin’s move to Manchester United hasn’t worked out at all as hoped.
The Frenchman, a wonderfully dynamic midfielder, looks set to leave Old Trafford and would surely be natural fit under the Argentine once more.
