Poor relationship leads to Sheffield Wednesday embarrassment amid frustrating season

The Sheffield Wednesday fans in the Transfer Tavern don’t look too happy tonight and strangely enough, none of them are wearing the new kit?

As reported by the Daily Mail, the Championship club have been branded ‘an embarrassment’ by their own fans after it was confirmed that their new kit is still unavailable to buy, one month into the new season.

The Owls, who are celebrating their 150th anniversary this year, recently ditched their kit’s brand Sondico and decided to bring the process in-house.

This change has led to a new supplier, with whom there has been a poor relationship which has reportedly led to the delay.

Wednesday only unveiled their new strip one week before the start of the new campaign.

Carlos Carvalhal’s side hasn’t had the best start to the 2017/18 season as they lie in 16th place on the Championship table with just one win from their opening five games.

The Landlord’s Verdict

It is slightly embarrassing when we are five, nearly six, games into the new season and your fans don’t have access to the new kit.

Although our landlord can see what they were trying to do by trying to do in terms of upping the quality of the kit and bringing the process in-house.

However, why didn’t they just play it safe?

In a monumental year for the club, their anniversary is being overshadowed by this dark spot on their season.
