When Ralph Hasenhuttl went about his interview following Southampton’s 4-0 Carabao Cup win over Portsmouth, he probably won’t have expected it to be Pompey fans he would please.
Speaking to Sky Sports, it was clear how impressed he was by the Portsmouth fans, as he mentioned that he had “never seen such an atmosphere in a stadium”:
“I’ve never seen such an atmosphere in the stadium.”
Ralph Hasenhuttl said he was proud of his players as they beat Portsmouth 4-0 in the South Coast derby.

While many supporters will have been frustrated by the result, at least they will have been able to get one over on fans of their rivals, as their own manager was praising Pompey’s atmosphere.
It is difficult to blame him for being impressed though, as even when his interview was taking place, chants and songs could still be heard in the background.
Pompey fans insisted before the game they would get behind their team and they definitely stuck to their word.
