The Transfer Tavern landlord is once again hearing the rumours that Louis Van gaal’s days at Manchester United are coming to an end, with the self appointed special one said to be the man to be placed in charge at Old Trafford.
The Manchester United board are in talks with the boss and, according to some news reports, have agreed that the former Chelsea boss will take over from the Dutch man this summer, with United responding to neighbours Manchester City bringing in Pep Guardiola.
Our Transfer Tavern landlord decided to speculate as to who would line up in a United shirt next season should The Special one take targe at Old Trafford.
With the summer transfer activity likely to be extremely busy this summer, especially with a new TV deal bringing millions, clubs will be trying to pluck the best talent from across the globe and Man United will be in the thick of the action!

Samir Handanovic
With the likelihood of David De Gea moving to Madrid this summer, a top keeper would be high on the Special one’s list.
With his Inter Milan connections, a move for 31-year-old Slovenian shot stopper might jut fit the bill as a replacement.
Handanovic joined Inter for £9million in July 2012 a similar fee would be required to bring him to the Theatre of Dreams.
Matteo Darmian
The Italian full back has not had the best of starts to his United career, making just 18 appearances for the Reds so far this season.
Signed in the summer for just under £13million his form has been up and down, coinciding with Van Gaal unable to settle on a formation.
Mourinho though can get the best out of the 26-year-old.
Chris Smalling
Smalling has improved immensely so far this season, being the only player to be a regular feature in the Manchester United back line.
England recognition has come from his steady displays and though eh still has the odd mistake in his game, the arrival of Mourinho will not hinder is career as the former Chelsea boss is an admirer of the United centre half.
John Stones
Mourinho has made his admiration of Stones well know with the pursuit of the young defender last summer at Chelsea.
If the former Blues boss does land the Old Trafford job, you can be sure that the Everton star defender will be high on his transfer targets.
The young Everton centre back would be an ideal target for the Red Devils, with his ability to come out from the back to spring United on the attack.
Luke Shaw
This season, Shaw looked to have settled in at Old Trafford and had started to play like he did when he was at Southampton. However, a serious injury has derailed his promising campaign.
Mourinho will be keen to get the young flying left back back into the Man United starting line-up swiftly upon his recovery, which isn’t expected to be too long from now.
The special one was beaten to the signature of Shaw by United and will be keen to link up with the future England full back .
Nicolas Gaitan
Benfica midfielder has been impressing for the Portuguese club so far this season, which has sparked interest for clubs all across Europe. United though have held long-term interest.
The Argentine playmaker has scored seven goals this season, including three in the Champions League, whilst assisting in the creation of eleven other goals.
Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United are all rumoured to be interested in getting the young wingers signature in the summer.

The 26-year-old Spanish midfielder has been a consistent shining light in another dull season for Manchester United.
Making 25 appearances for the Reds this term and scoring three goals, his work ethic and attitude though makes him a Mourinho type of player.
Herrera can add more goals to his arsenal next season under the new Mourinho regime.
Morgan Schneiderlin
A definite Jose Mourinho player as he is a hard working, disciplined defensive midfielder, Schneiderlin is as of yet has not been at his best at United.
The French player has been on Mourinho’s radar for a long time now and with the Jose looking set to take over at Old Trafford he will finally get his man.
Schneiderlin can be the rock that Jose like to have in the centre of the park and keep the back four protected.

The Real Madrid star has become the target of several Premier League sides, with Manchester United leading the race to land the Welsh wizzard.
Rumours surrounding the Welsh star have been circling in the Transfer Tavern for month’s now and it is believed that Madrid will listen to offers for Bale this Summer.
Mourinho and United fans would love to see another talismanic Welsh star at Old Trafford, following years of service from Ryan Giggs.

Martial is Louis Van Gaal’s best purchase under his reign at Manchester United and looks like he will be the star striker at United for a long time.
