Jack Wilshere has been talking recently about his departure from Arsenal, claiming that had Arsene Wenger stayed at The Emirates then he would also have remained at the club, with a lot of fans commenting on how glad they are that the injury-prone midfielder isn’t on their payroll anymore.
Jack Wilshere said he would not have joined West Ham had it not been for the departure of Arsene Wenger from Arsenal…

Wilshere had the potential to be an England and Arsenal captain and many believed he would be the natural heir to Cesc Fabregas throne when he came off age. However, injuries have plagued the 26-year-old to the point where he was forced to leave The Emirates on a free transfer, with West Ham opting to take a chance on the midfielder. So far, that gamble hasn’t paid off for the Hammers and Wilshere is currently sidelined with an ankle injury.
Arsene Wenger promoted Wilshere from the U18s to the senior squad in 2008 as a young kid who he believed could go far in the game. Ten years later and all that gets mentioned in regard to Wilshere is what-ifs. In ten years with the senior squad, he was loaned out twice, to Bolton and Bournemouth, and made under 200 appearances for the Gunners. The fans expected a lot more from Wilshere and now that he’s gone they’ve moved on and will want him to do the same.

That’s why we had too many players that didn’t deserve to be at Arsenal spending years at the club like legends. He trusted them too much but they let him down

And that was the problem. Wenger kept believing in average players, thinking they’d reach a potential that was never there.

The Gunners will be keen for Wilshere to stop talking about Arsenal and go back to focusing on his recovery at West Ham.
