Crystal Palace have definitely improved in recent times but they’re still struggling to make the most of promising positions, which has halted their progress a little.
Roy Hodgson has managed to get the very best out of Andros Townsend in the current campaign, but the London club are still in desperate need of a striker at this moment in time. And, it appears as if the Eagles have a forward in their sights, as according to The Sun, Crystal Palace are in talks to sign Stoke City’s Saido Berahino.
The Burundi international is being eyed by Premier League side Crystal Palace.
And, it looks as if Hodgson won’t have any trouble in securing his services if they decide to move for him, as it’s understood he will be granted permission to leave Stoke after two years at the Bet365 Stadium.
Christian Benteke and Connor Wickham have only recently returned from injury, so bringing in another attacker could prove crucial as they’ve had to deploy Wilfried Zaha at the pinnacle of the attack at times.
Saido Berahino, who is valued at £7.2 million (by Transfermarkt), has previous experience in the Premier League from his time at West Bromwich Albion, which could come in handy.
However, he hasn’t exactly been hugely impressive in the Championship at Stoke City in the current campaign, having only found the back of the net three times in the league, so there’s probably better options out there.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
