Picking a single man to be the player of the month is always hard when you’ve won all of your games without conceding a goal. However, that’s exactly what Liverpool have done and the fans now have the tough decision of picking just one player who really stood out. In most fans eyes, that man should James Milner and you can vote for the 32-year-old on the Liverpool website.

So many different players can stake a claim to why they should win the award. Virgil van Dijk has been a monster at the heart of Liverpool’s defence. Alisson becker has looked calm and assured with the ball at his feet and in his hands. Naby Keita has settled into life and looked like a man possessed with his work rate in midfield. Sadio Mane has scored three goals and got the club off to a flier. There are at least five players who deserve the award, however, only one can win it.
That’s where James Milner comes in. The humble and unassuming midfielder has dragged the club through the rough patches they’ve faced. His grit, determination and know-how is invaluable to Liverpool and he always steps up when needed. The ex-Manchester City man opened his account for the season against Crystal Palace with a well-taken penalty and he’s been relentless in making sure his side’s standards haven’t dropped until the final whistle, which is why so many fans are calling for him to be named the club’s player of the month.

Got to be Milner to be fair… worked his backside off in the middle. Made us tick in every part of the pitch. Not stopped shouting and chasing. Been awesome. Milly milly
