Leeds fans on Twitter dream of signing Tom Heaton - Burnley

Leeds United are a club that have the potential to go very very far under their current system Marcelo Bielsa has got them playing their best football in years and whilst there will be questions to answer in the upcoming January transfer window, the fans all believe that Bielsa will answer them, and they’ve been their opinions on Twitter, calling for the signing of Burnley’s Tom Heaton.

Marcelo Bielsa was relying on Bailey Peacock-Farrell and Jamal Blackman as his number one and two between the sticks. Although that has now been thrown up in the air after Blackman suffered a fractured tibia whilst turning out for the Leeds United U21s over the weekend. Now it looks like the club will have to bring someone in when January comes around, and Tom Heaton is the man that the fans are dreaming of.

At the start of last season, Tom Heaton was Burnley’s number one. Things have changed a lot since then, though, as the 32-year-old suffered an injury which saw him miss over four months of action. When he returned to fitness it was a different picture at Turf Moor as Nick Pope was in the form of his life, and little known to him, just weeks away from being included in the England squad. Then when Sean Dyche signed Joe Hart it further restricted Heaton’s chances, leading to rumours that have linked him with a switch to Elland Road.

The Whites all want to sign Heaton and will hope the 32-year-old can act as both a mentor for BPF and as the man to help them kick on in the promotion push.
