Romelu Lukaku is an individual who continues to divide opinions at Manchester United.

The Belgium international forward has hardly gone onto hit the heights many would have expected him to go on and achieve when the Red Devils splashed out an initial £75million on him in 2017.

According to statistics compiled by 68 goals in his 141 top-flight matches for Everton over four years prior to his move, perhaps, playing for a club as big as United has brought on too much pressure for him to handle.

Let's not forget, the striker is still only 26-years-old and has plenty of time to reach his prime and peak, whilst he played out wide for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a number of times last year which certainly would not have helped his goal ratio, hence the reason as to why there are so many split opinions regarding him.

But, Gary Neville gave him some brutal criticism after watching in action against his former club Chelsea by suggesting he looked unfit by saying: "You watch him for 25 minutes, he looks like a world-beater but you see him make one run and he looks knackered."

And, apparently, it would seem Manchester United are ready to try and offload him this summer if they were to receive an offer matching what they originally paid Everton for him. Sky Sports have claimed they would be prepared to accept bids of around the £75m mark, although it would only have to be a cash deal.

Thus, should someone be willing enough to give them that figure (or somewhere in the region of that), then perhaps it would have to be considered good business? After all, Lukaku has hardly had a fine couple of seasons at Old Trafford.

Goals aside, and only taking the Premier League into account as that is clearly the competition the Red Devils need to focus on, his offensive statistics leave plenty to be desired in the 32 matches he featured in and leave a sight for sore eyes.

According to the figures collected by WhoScored, he managed just an average of 1.7 shots per game and provided his team-mates with less than one key pass a match (0.7). And, his stats continued to get worse the further you divulge into them.

He completed less than one dribble per game (0.7), he was found offside 0.7 times - perhaps that had something to do with the extra weight and how unfit he was as Neville eluded to? - whilst his ball control was absolutely shocking.

Having been dispossessed 1.4 times on average per game and making an average of 1.6 bad touches per match it is hardly any wonder as to why a number of fans were quick to tear into him on social media on a number of occasions (including his birthday - oof!).

At Old Trafford, Lukaku, unfortunately, looks a shadow of the player he was during his time at Everton and even West Bromwich Albion and should Manchester United be able to get the £75m they are asking for him, Ed Woodward will have managed to have conducted some really astute business.

Man Utd fans, would you agree that it would be great business by the club to receive £75m for Lukaku? Would you sell him this summer? Let us know your thoughts below!
