Manchester United: Fans criticise Daniel James as Red Devils move up to fifth with Watford win

Some Manchester United fans were not pleased with Daniel James’ performance against Watford, despite the Red Devils strolling to a 3-0 win on Sunday.

It was an easy afternoon at Old Trafford as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side ran riot against the Hornets. Goals from Bruno Fernandes, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood ensured that United moved up to fifth in the Premier League table. However, there was one player that the United faithful were not too pleased with.

James, 22, who signed from Swansea City for £15m last summer, was highlighted for his inability to keep hold of the ball and his lack of strength in midfield. He only won three out of his 11 ground duels, lost possession 17 times and did not play one accurate cross during the 90 minutes, as per SofaScore. As a result, supporters were unimpressed with his outing and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan bluntly described him as “awful”, while another showed his concerns as the Welshman’s poor run of form continues.
