Arsenal took to Twitter yesterday to share the news that it was exactly five year to the day that Hector Bellerin made his first appearance for Arsenal. In response to the tweet, the fans all questioned what happened to the Bellerin of 2013 as his form has massively dipped since those days.

The Spanish full-back was famed for being one of the quickest players around back then but it seems that he’s almost lost his rapid yard of pace over the last few years. The defender is still very young but his ability to somewhat wavered and the fans have accused him of stagnating at times, although that could be down to Arsene Wenger’s tactical set-up that he was used in for his first five seasons with the club.
Unai Emery will now be keen to get the best out of the 23-year-old and try to get him up to the level hat the fans believed he was capable of reaching when he first broke into the team as an 18-year-old prodigy. At the age of just 23 the Spaniard has done extremely well to already clock up 168 appearances for his club and the seven goals he’s got to his name aren’t a bad return from right-back. However, it’s about kicking on now and showing that he has got another gear to reach his best form.
You can read The Gunners’ verdict on Bellerin here:
since then he has averaged 0 tackles per game learning from his friend Mustafi who cannot clear the ball.

The fans want 2013 Bellerin back as soon as possible and are getting sick of 2018 Belerin who seems more interested in his looks than his football.
