Several Tottenham Hotspur fans were unhappy with the performance of Eric Dier as they succumbed to a 3-1 defeat against Bayern Munich on Wednesday.
It was a poor night for Spurs and several players were way off the pace, but the England international was singled out for specific criticism on social media.

Dier was certainly not at his best at the Allianz Arena, a statement which is backed up by the statistics.
Indeed, the 25-year-old lost possession on 12 occasions in the match, won just one of five ground duels, won neither of his two aerial duels, was dribbled past twice and had a passing accuracy of just 64% (SofaScore).
He had fallen out of favour under Mauricio Pochettino, but the ex-Sporting Lisbon man has appeared in five of the six matches since Mourinho took charge, starting four (Transfermarkt).
However it seems that several Spurs fans were not impressed with Dier’s performance in Germany and they have been slamming him on Twitter.
Here is what some had to say…
He’s so poor. Looks totally unfit and can’t pass to save his life. It like it’s a form thing either he’s been this bad for 3 years. He needs a change for his own career. Everton player written all over him.

He was so anonymous that he was only noticed when he made an error ,which was every time he touched the ball .

– He’s the worst player in the squad. Sell him. Zero mobility. Zero protection for the defense.

I’m sorry but Dier WAS a quality player . He isn’t even a championship player now

Eric Dier just looks well off the pace. Looks overweight and ponderous. Don’t know what happened but he don’t even look championship lvl to me. Must buy a quality in prime midfielder to link the def to the attack.
