The Football Transfer Tavern has been rocked after news emerged from the Daily Mail that Romelu Lukaku will NOT sign a new deal at the Toffees.
This is certainly a bitter pill to swallow for fans of the Merseyside outfit, with the the big Belgian being such an influential figure for Ronald Koeman’s side this season.
Lukaku, still only 23, has been the catalyst of Everton’s success this season, and as our landlord quips, it was essential that the club tied the striker down to a new lengthy contract, to ward off any potential suitors.
This news has subsequently alerted the Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern who are all congregated around the dartboard.
The Blues supporting punters here in the pub admit they’d love to see Lukaku back strutting his stuff at Stamford Bridge, with them all feeling his heart still lies in west London.
