Liverpool snatched a 2-2 draw with Bournemouth at Anfield earlier this week, and it’s a result that edges Jurgen Klopp’s team that little bit closer towards the coveted Champions League places.
With things tightening up at the top-of-the-table, it’s imperative that the Reds pick up as many points as they can and many Reds fans in the pub thought a 2-2 draw against the Cherries wasn’t a disaster in the slightest, especially considering they went a goal down.
But going forward, there are certain individuals in this squad that really need to start proving their worth if they are to impress manager Jurgen Klopp and even remain at the club next season.
So after a good chat with the landlord and having decided which players he wants to see pull up their socks, here’s the TWO Liverpool men we think need to really pull it out between now and the end of the season….
Emre Can

Emre Can has been a big part of the Liverpool side this season having lost captain Jordan Henderson in recent weeks, but there’s plenty of Reds fans here in the Tavern that feel there’s still that little more left to come from the German.
He’s a superb player that carries a real presence in the middle-of-the-park but at times, you want him to dominate more and really show that he’s the man in control for the Reds.
That little more effort should do the trick because there’s absolutely no doubting, the German has the potential to be world-class.
Joel Matip

Joel Matip has had a slightly up and down season where he’s been exposed on occasions for being a little defensively weak.
Expect Jurgen Klopp to add a strong centre-back this summer after Ragnar Klavan’s slightly underwhelming addition the squad, which really puts the pressure on Matip to perform in the coming weeks, in order to show he’s the man to lead the defence next season.
He’s a real physical presence but these are a big few weeks for the former Schalke man.
