Pulis Ploughs Onwards & Upwards With New Striker Interest

Tony Pulis is set to continue his seemingly never-ending quest for strikers as he is rumoured to be pursuing Crystal Palace’s Wilfred Zaha.

The People reported that the Stoke boss watched 18-year-old Zaha’s impressive performance in Crystal Palace’s 2-1 Carling Cup win over Wigan as he set up Darren Ambrose for the opening goal.

Zaha made an instant impact on his Palace debut when he came on in the first game of last season to score a vital goal and has been linked with Fulham, Wigan and even Liverpool in the last 12 months.

He has not yet registered a goal in the Championship, but scored his third goal in as many Carling Cup appearances in last night’s 2-1 victory over Middlesbrough.

In the summer Stoke brought in Peter Crouch, Wilson Palacios and Smajl Suljevic and they have also tried to land Carlton Cole a number of times so they would be offering a fee in the region of £2m to bring Palace’s young striker to the Britannia Stadium.

Although Zaha is highly rated by Palace fans due to his pace, trickery and strength, it is unlikely he would be a first team player straight away, but he could be a prospect for the future.
