Sadio Mane has given fans plenty to shout about in recent times in the Premier League as he continues to aid Liverpool’s title push under Jurgen Klopp.
The 58-cap Senegal international has gone up a couple of levels since moving to Liverpool back in the summer of 2016, with goals and assists ever-present.
And, this season is arguably one of his best yet as he’s managed to produce an incredible 20 goals and four assists in all competitions, which includes nine goals in his last nine Premier League games.
He’s caught the eye of many Liverpool fans this season and he now has the attention of one pundit in particular as Danny Higginbotham lauded the Reds attacker recently, as per The Sun.
‘Mane is near-enough Liverpool’s most important player right now and, with 11 goals in his last 11 games in all competitions, he is in the form of his life.’
Sadio Mane single-handedly kept Liverpool’s title dreams alive yesterday at Craven Cottage as he opened the scoring and won the penalty that Milner slotted away.
The 26-year-old has been the source of all things brilliant in the final third for Liverpool in recent times but it comes as some surprise that Higginbotham named Mane as near-enough Liverpool’s best player, as the likes of Mohamed Salah, Virgil Van Dijk and Andy Robertson have been influential. Indeed, the Reds wouldn’t find themselves competing for the title or in Europe if it wasn’t for those three and it’s not always about who scores.
Many fans will agree that the likes of Salah and Van Dijk are names that automatically spring to mind when you think about Liverpool’s brilliance this season.
Nevertheless, Mane delivered when needed and he’s had his foot on the acceleration pedal for quite a while now, so he’ll no doubt play a big part in the Reds’ push for an elusive Premier League from here on in.
