Queens Park Rangers fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are unsure on their manager’s intentions after the Daily Mirror revealed that they want to swap current R’s star Jordon Mutch for Crystal Palace’s Fraizer Campbell.
Palace are equally as keen as QPR for the Mutch deal to go through but in return, Harry Redknapp wants former Manchester United academy graduate Campbell to help fire them out of the relegation zone.
He is also hoping that if he can sign the Palace striker, it will take pressure off Charlie Austin who has been the Hoops’ go-to guy this term, scoring 13 goals in total.
The Hoops are still looking to sell their outcast talents with one of them – Adel Taarabt – having been re-targeted by last season’s loan employers AC Milan.
In search for more goals, they signed Mauro Zarate from West Ham United on loan at the start of January and they are hoping that they can transform their attack with the addition of Campbell.
Their chances of signing the Palace striker, who has scored three times for the Eagles this season, have been enhanced after Alan Pardew’s side signed Yaya Sanogo on loan from Arsenal, while the South Londoners continue to be linked with Swansea City’s Bafetimbi Gomis.
