Our Rangers fans here in the Transfer Tavern are really looking forward to seeing their side trying to challenge Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership this season.
The Gers are just three points behind the Bhoys at the moment as we head into the international break though it’s actually Aberdeen leading the way so far with four wins from four games.
The men from Ibrox, then, need to keep pace and many of their fans will surely be expecting some action in the transfer market before it shuts tomorrow night.
For sure, Pedro Caixinha has been busy in the window already and might not be finished just yet.
Indeed, according to Football Insider, the Gers are looking into trying to sign Cardiff’s Declan John before the deadline passes on Thursday.
John is out of favour with the Welsh side at the moment and so could be up for a move with the deal being touted as a loan with a view to a permanent transfer right now.
It remains to be seen, then, as to what happens next.
Landlord’s Verdict
Rangers need to be making sure their squad is as strong as possible ahead of this season with Celtic and Aberdeen starting well.
Indeed, those are the two the Gers will need to beat this season to the title – particularly Celtic – and if they can pull off a shrewd move for John they’ll be hoping he helps yield points over the coming months.
