A number of Rangers fans on Twitter were left delighted with what they witnessed from Ianis Hagi on Saturday afternoon as he helped the club book their place in the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup.
The Light Blues eased past Hamilton Academical at New Douglas Park in an early Saturday afternoon encounter, with Scott Arfield bagging a brace – despite missing from the penalty spot – whilst Alfredo Morelos and Joe Aribo also made sure they progressed further in the domestic competition (BBC).
Hagi managed to get another appearance under his belt for the Glaswegian giants following his January loan switch to the club and it seems a number of the club’s faithful on social media are warming rather quickly to what the Romanian can bring to the party.
The 21-year-old, who is currently valued at £4.5m by TransferMarkt, may have only played 101 minutes for the Bears since teaming up with them, it seems the further 73 minutes he got on Saturday only helped to build expectation around what he can potentially provide them with in the imminent future.
Some fans felt Hagi was Rangers’ best player on the pitch, whilst another supporter had claimed the Romanian had looked a “class above” everyone else.
Here are just some of their reactions to his latest performance in the blue jersey…
Hagi again for me! Looked a class above until he went off. Arf and Aribo then thankfully stepped up. Scrappy performance and were defo flattered by the scoreline!! Arfields screamer tho……. OOFT!

Arfield. Was quality even before that strike at the end. Hagi and Morelos appear to be forming a bit of an understanding with each other which will only get better. Kamara deserves credit for that tackle late in the 1st half.

Not a great game to watch. Hagi was very impressive with his first touches and his foward passing. Too many loose passes that were needless. Good Morelos got his goal and great strike from Arfield. 4-1 win #RFC
