Rangers: Fans heap praise on Ryan Jack after Team of the Week inclusion

Rangers have made an excellent start to the 2019/20 Scottish Premiership, with one player in particular playing a starring role.

Ryan Jack has been absolutely outstanding so far this term. He has become a key player for manager Steven Gerrard and has played in all-bar one of their league fixtures, only missing their game against Livingston due to a slight injury.

His latest excellent performance came as the Gers thumped St Johnstone 4-0 at McDiarmid Park on Saturday, with the defensive midfielder showing he also has attacking qualities by providing two assists.

On the back of that display he was rightly named in the SPFL’s Team of the Week, alongside the likes of Odsonne Edouard and Hearts’ Aaron Hickey.

Jack’s performances have helped Rangers climb to second in the Scottish Premiership table after six matches, just three points adrift of bitter rivals Celtic.

Since arriving from Aberdeen back in 2017, he has played in both defensive midfield role as well as sometimes being asked to play a little more advanced (via TransferMarkt). However, this season he has tended to play deeper with the likes of Steven Davis, Scott Arfield and Joe Aribo playing further forward.

He is now one of the most in-form players in the entire division, hence his inclusion in the Team of the Week.
