Plenty of Rangers fans have commended the club after the release of a strongly-worded statement declaring its position on the escalating row with the SPFL over the resolution of the Scottish league season.
The statement, available in full on rangers.co.uk and shared on Twitter via @RangersFC, claimed that the club had been presented with evidence from a whistleblower that raised “serious concerns” about the overseeing of the voting process regarding the SPFL resolution. It added that ‘Gers interim chairman Douglas Park had tried to discuss that evidence with SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster, who refused to do so, and that a follow-up email from the league was “a thinly disguised attempt to silence legitimate concerns”.

As reported by the Daily Record, it emerged yesterday that Dundee had apparently signalled their intent to reject the SPFL’s proposal to finish the season as it stands and pay out prize money early, with leaked images showing that they had ticked the ‘no’ box on their ballot paper, which wasn’t received by the SPFL. In Rangers’ statement on the affair, Park called for the resignation of Doncaster and legal adviser Rod McKenzie and for an independent inquiry to be conducted.
These ‘Gers fans on Twitter were pleased to see the club coming out fighting so strongly:
This is amazing.

Finally we are saying something. It’s about time the spfl were brought to task, not fit for purpose

Well done again Rangers. The only team in the league who seems to want things done professional and correct. As Scotland only relevant premier club more of this needs to happen.
