Rangers were able to go to the top of the SPL table over the weekend after they beat Hamilton 1-0 thanks to an early first-half goal from Daniel Candeias.
However, despite climbing to first, manager Steven Gerrard was not entirely pleased with his side’s performance on the day after they failed to increase their slim lead.
“We didn’t have a killer instinct about us and at 1-0 the game is always open,” Gerrard told Rangers’ official club website after the match.
“We had 21 corners today and I am guessing here, but we had at least 30 crosses into the box. We are playing well up until a certain point but someone has got to go and want to go and score a goal or assist a goal to kill Hamilton.”
Considering that and Rangers’ season as a whole, the Glasgow club could perhaps do with some more firepower up front, something Gerrard will have the chance to address when the transfer window opens next month.
As well as the market, the Rangers boss also has Ryan Hardie as a possible option to consider going forward with the 21-year-old currently impressing on loan at Livingston.
You can have a look at what supporters are saying about Hardie here…
We will probably sign some striker from Luton Town on loan for 6 months rather than give RH a fair crack of the whip
