Later this month, Paul Gascoigne is set to be inducted into the Scottish Football hall of fame. The former Rangers man’s induction is set to take place on October 21st at Hampden Park. However, according to a report in The Daily Mail, the SFA chiefs are set to boycott the evening as they’re concerned by Gascoigne’s troubled past and don’t want to be seen endorsing the 51-year-old.

The Daily Mail’s article claims that the SFA chiefs are worried about inducting Gascoigne because of issues he’s had in his past surrounding domestic abuse, racism and sectarianism. The SFA have no say into who gets voted into the Hall of Fame and they’ll likely be missing the black-tie dinner that has been organised to celebrate both Gascoigne and Scotland women’s international, Julie Fleeting.
Whilst off the field, Gascoigne had plenty of issues. On the pitch, he was a different man. The ex-Tottenham and Newcastle man spent three years at Ibrox where he won two Scottish First Division titles, one Scottish Cup and one League Cup. His time in Scotland also saw him named as the player of the season in his first year in Glasgow following his move from Italian side Lazio.

The Bluenoses are far from happy to see that SFA will be boycotting Gascoigne’s induction and have pulled no punches in their criticism of the organisation.
