Rangers fans on Twitter were in raptures when Defoe put Aberdeen to bed

Yesterday evening at Pittodrie the game of the week took place between Aberdeen and Rangers. Six goals and two red cards were the obvious highlights, and the Gers couldn’t relax until Jermain Defoe did what he does best and fired home their 4th goal in the 5th minute of injury time to give the Bluenoses some much-needed breathing space.

Defoe’s goal means that the 36-year-old has now contributed three goals and two assists in his first three games in the Scottish Premier League and the fans are all over him. His goals will be crucial to their season as Steven Gerrard looks to lead them to the Scottish Premier League title, especially seeing as Alfredo Morelos continues to get himself needlessly sent off in games like last night.

Wherever Jermain Defoe has gone, he’s found the back of the net and it seems that Scotland is no different. After a tough first half of the season at Bournemouth where the veteran struggled for minutes, he’s found another home for himself at Ibrox, and yesterday’s goal was so well taken that the fans believe it will act as a catalyst for yet more goals in his Rangers career. Next up for Defoe and co is Kilmarnock in the Scottish Cup, and the Gers will back their frontman to bag again.

The Gers loved seeing Defoe put Aberdeen to bed with their 4th goal last night and will be desperate to see him keep up his hot streak against Kilmarnock on the weekend.
