Rangers: Fans praise Joe Aribo’s performance against St Johnstone

Rangers maintained their strong start to the 2019/20 Scottish Premiership season with a 4-0 victory against St Johnstone at the weekend.

The Glasgow outfit made it five wins from six matches this season with victory at McDiarmid Park, ensuring that they keep the pressure on bitter rivals Celtic at the top of the table.

All four of their goals came in the second half of the match, with manager Steven Gerrard admitting after that they were “on a different level” after the interval.

Alfredo Morelos, Connor Goldson and Jermain Defoe were the players on the scoresheet for the Gers, but the performance of Joe Aribo also caught the eyes of several supporters.

The midfielder, who joined the Ibrox outfit from Charlton Athletic in the summer transfer window, provided his second assist of the season in the match and bossed things in midfield, particularly in the second period.

Big things are expected of Aribo, who reportedly turned down Premier League clubs (per Sky Sports) to join the Scottish giants. The 23-year-old was outstanding during Charlton’s promotion campaign from League One last term where he netted 10 goals and his new set of fans want to see more of the same.

He is already going some way to doing just that, having scored three times in Europa League qualifying whilst also bagging once in the Scottish League Cup.

If the responses to his Tweet this weekend are anything to go by, then it would appear as though he is already well on the way to becoming a firm favourite amongst the Rangers faithful…
