Rangers: Fans rage at Sky Sports commentary on James Tavernier goal

James Tavernier celebrating Rangers title win

Many Rangers fans have been raging on Twitter about Ian Crocker’s commentary in the 2-1 win over St Johnstone.

The Sky Sports commentator was on duty as Steven Gerrard’s side came from behind to beat the Saints on Saturday thanks to second-half goals from Kemar Roofe and James Tavernier. Michael O’Halloran had put the hosts ahead, but the lead only lasted seven minutes.

The victory means Rangers have won four of their opening five Premiership games, including a victory in the most recent Old Firm derby before the international break, and they rise above Hibernian into top spot.

For Tavernier’s spectacular looped effort over Zander Clark to secure the three points, Crocker’s commentary came in for criticism over his tone once the ball hit the back of the net, with some viewers accusing him of sounding disappointed about the concession of the goal.
