Rangers supporters have been in fine voice in the Transfer Tavern in recent times after seeing their team reach the group stages of the Europa League on Thursday night.
Steven Gerrard’s men went into the second leg of their play-off against Russian outfit Ufa with a one-goal lead after a narrow victory at Ibrox last week, and they just about got the job done on Thursday night despite playing much of the match with nine men. Alfredo Morelos and Jon Flanagan were both given their marching orders to give the Light Blues an uphill battle to protect their one-goal advantage, but a 1-1 draw in Russia means that the Gers will return to the group stages of European competition for the first time since 2010.
As such, there have been many thrilled Rangers fans up and down the country in recent times, and their mood is likely to have further improved given their club have confirmed that Joe Worrall has made the move to Ibrox on loan for the remainder of the season.
The 21-year-old defender is currently on the books at Championship outfit Nottingham Forest having come up through the ranks at the City Ground, and with 56 appearances for the Reds, it’s fair to say that he has already become a key part of the squad.
But with no appearances under Aitor Karanka so far this season, alongside failing to appear in any of their final seven Championship games last term, it’s clear that Worrall is now some way down the pecking order, thus opening the door for Gerrard to lure the England Under-21 international to Ibrox.
And following on from their great success to reach the group stages of the Europa League, Rangers fans continue to express their delight at the direction the club is heading following their 14th signing of the summer…
