Rangers: Fans react as SPFL chairman Murdoch MacLennan condemns club’s statement

Plenty of Rangers fans have been reacting to a response from SPFL chairman Murdoch MacLennan to a stinging statement from the Ibrox club on Saturday.

In a statement posted on rangers.co.uk, ‘Gers interim chairman Douglas Park called for the resignations of SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster and legal adviser Rod McKenzie over the ongoing league resolution saga. The club also accused the SPFL of “farcical conduct” and a “lack of leadership and responsibility”, adding their belief that “an undemocratic culture” has long existed in the organisation, and claimed that they have evidence from a whistleblower which raises “serious concerns” about the SPFL’s voting process.

The league’s resolution vote was not carried on Friday after Dundee apparently abstained from voting. However, it emerged yesterday (via Daily Record) that the Dens Park club had intended to reject the SPFL’s proposals but the league had not received their vote.

Following Rangers’ jibes at the SPFL, MacLennan retaliated in a statement that was tweeted by @RangersCulture. As per the Daily Record, he insisted that the Ibrox club either provide evidence of their claims or retract their statement.

Naturally, these Rangers fans on Twitter were not slow to give their reactions to MacLennan’s message to the club:
