Loads of Rangers fans have been left delighted by a revelation from Steven Gerrard’s pre-Braga press conference, as the manager confirmed Borna Barisic is expected to play in Thursday’s Europa League clash.
It’s no surprise that Rangers have struggled to score goals in the last couple of matches, as the absence of Barisic has left Gerrard without his greatest creative threat. The Croatia international has racked up a superb 14 assists in all competitions this season, but missed the clashes with Kilmarnock and Livingston with a hip injury.
According to the boss though, the 27 year-old played ‘the majority’ of Tuesday’s training session, offering hope he will be ready to go when Braga come to town on Thursday evening. Barisic himself has also commented on his fitness, via @CroatianNews, saying: “I hope to be able to play for Glasgow Rangers against Braga.”
This is of course a huge boost for the Gers as they look to get their season back on track with another memorable European nights under the lights at Ibrox, and the Twitter reactions down below can hardly contain their excitement…
