Rangers: Fans react to possible FC Midtjylland Europa League encounter

Rangers could face FC Midtjylland in the next round of the Europa League and fans have been reacting to the news on Twitter.

The Light Blues will need to overcome Progres Niederkorn first if they are to meet the Danish outfit in the third qualifying round of the tournament.

Rangers are no strangers to the Luxembourg minnows and will be desperate not to see history repeat itself following 2017’s embarrassment when Pedro Caixinha was in charge and saw them crash out of the competition (BBC).

Steven Gerrard has since rung the changes with a ton of additions to his side over the last 12 months (Transfermarkt) and managed to take his team to the group stages of the competition last season, although they were unable to navigate the obstacles of Villarreal, Rapid Vienna and Spartak Moscow successfully.

Should they be able to get past Progres Niederkorn, then a potentially tough challenge in the face of FC Midtjylland will await them.

The Danish side have been in good form recently and have won both of their Danish Superliga matches so far as they look to build on last season’s second-place finish (Transfermarkt).

However, the encounter with the Scandanavian outfit does not appear to have frightened any of the Rangers supporters on Twitter as many of them are full of confidence regarding their chances of progressing to the next stage of the tournament.
