Rangers: Fans react to the departure of Kyle Lafferty on Twitter

Rangers fans have been reacting to the departure of Kyle Lafferty on Twitter and it does not appear many of the Ibrox faithful will be missing him this time around.

The club confirmed on their official website that they had come to a mutual agreement with the Northern Ireland international about terminating his contract and also announced his departure on the social media site.

Having struck 38 goals in his 138 appearances for Rangers between 2008 and 2012 and guiding them to three league titles, a Scottish Cup and two League Cups (club’s official website), many of them would have been hoping for a similar return.

However, it was not to be for their former forward.

Steven Gerrard admitted he was disappointed with how things turned out for Lafferty in his second spell at the club, as he managed to record just seven goals and two assists in his 37 matches across all competitions for the Light Blues (Transfermarkt).

The manager had previously admitted that he would be a ‘no risk’ addition and one that would know what it meant to be a Rangers player. However, that build up was hardly justified with his performances on the Ibrox turf.

Gerrard was not the only person to be upset with how things turned out in regards to Lafferty’s second spell, as many of the club’s fans below were not too happy with what the 31-year-old had provided them with over the last 12 months.
