Rangers supporters in the Transfer Tavern have been in fine voice in recent times after seeing their team reach the group stages of the Europa League on Thursday night.
Steven Gerrard’s men went into the second leg of their play-off clash against Ufa having won 1-0 at Ibrox last week, thus giving the Scottish giants something to defend in Russia on Thursday. Yet it turned out to be a tricky day for the Gers given both Alfredo Morelos and Jon Flanagan were given their marching orders during the encounter, although the Light Blues secured a 1-1 draw to thus win the tie and earn them a spot in the group stages of European competition for the first time since 2010.
As such, there have been many thrilled Rangers fans up and down the country in the last few hours, and Gerrard’s side now know who they will be facing in the group stages when they get underway next month.
Standing between the Gers and the knockout stages of Europe’s secondary competition are Spartak Moscow, Rapid Vienna, and Villarreal, with Gerrard hoping he can help end a lengthy wait to return Rangers to the knockout rounds of European football, which dates back to their round of 16 exit in the Europa League to PSV Eindhoven back in 2011.
And many Gers supporters have unsurprisingly taken to Twitter to express their views on the draw, and it’s fair to say that plenty of them are split as to the difficulty of the group.

Tough group, all solid teams. Villareal will be the main challenge but it’s not impossible.
