Glasgow Rangers: Fans hammer Connor Goldson after 2-2 draw at Hibernian

Glasgow Rangers defender Connor Goldson came in for criticism from plenty of the club’s supporters following his performance in Sunday’s 2-2 draw at Hibernian.

Steven Gerrard’s side conceded their first goals of the season at Easter Road and, while they managed to return to the top of the Premiership, they now have only a one-point lead on Celtic, who still possess a game in hand (as per spfl.co.uk).

The 27-year-old centre-back had an unwanted part to play in Christian Doidge’s second half equaliser, as it was his errant pass which was collected by Martin Boyle, who provided the cross for the Hibs striker to level the scores with the last goal of the afternoon (as per Sky Sports).

While there were some positive aspects to Goldson’s performance – he won 13 of his 16 duels, for instance – he also lost possession 13 times, including the fateful error which led to Doidge’s goal as Glasgow Times writer Christopher Jack noted the “costly mistakes” from the defender in his post-match player ratings.

These ‘Gers fans on Twitter slammed Goldson after the 2-2 draw, with some calling for Gerrard to drop a player who has been ever-present in their nine matches so far this season:
