Rangers: Fans slam Greg Stewart after Scottish Cup elimination

Greg Stewart might want to stay away from any form of social media over the weekend as a number of the Rangers faithful decided to slam him for his performance against Heart of Midlothian on Saturday evening.

The Light Blues were knocked out of the Scottish Cup quarterfinal as Steven Gerrard’s quest to bring silverware back to Ibrox suffered another setback, although the Europa League and potentially the Scottish Premiership titles could still be up for grabs.

However, it would seem a plethora of the Bluenoses feel that would only be possible if Stewart was not a part of the manager’s starting XI moving forward, with many citing him as a player who was a problem against the Jam Tarts.

Whilst he was perhaps frozen out of the action for much of the game – Rangers only managed a total of five shots (per SofaScore), it seemed as though he did not leave a very good impression on anyone that had been watching.

The4thofficial left Stewart a match rating of 5/10 as they stated that he ‘could not leave an impression’ before being replaced by Jermain Defoe.
