Rangers have done some excellent business in the transfer window. Steven Gerrard has seen 15 new players join the club on both loan deals and permanent deals, however, one of those hasn’t enjoyed the start to life that he’d have wanted as Jamie Murphy suffered an ACL injury against Kilmarnock in the Scottish League Cup.

The Scottish winger took to Twitter to confirm that his first bout of surgery had gone well and that he was on the road to recovery. However, with serious knee injuries like the one he’s suffered it looks like he could be on the sidelines for a long time and it would come as no surprise if he failed to make another appearance this season. The messages of support have been flooding in for the 29-year-old and the fans are more than prepared to wait for him.
It will be a welcome boost for the winger to receive so much support from both the Gers’ supporters and fellow pros. Some of his former teammates at Brighton and Hove Albion have messaged him to wish him well and the tweets from fans are endless as the Glaswegian club are really showing off how strong their fanbase is. Stevie G will have to get through the rest of the season without him, but when he returns there’s no doubt he’ll be back in the starting lineup.
