A number of Rangers fans on Twitter want to see Nikola Katic appear in Steven Gerrard’s starting XI more often.

Bill Young, of Rock Sport Radio, put a question to his followers asking them which defensive combination would be preferred and it appears as though the Croatia under-21 international was a firm favourite amongst supporters, despite hardly agreeing on who he should partner.
Gerrard has a number of different options available to him in the position, with the likes of Katic, Connor Goldson, George Edmundson and Filip Helander all vying for a place in his starting XI.
However, many of the Gers’ faithful have called for the manager to start playing the £1.8m-rated enforcer (Transfermarkt) as some feel he is the one most adapted to the game played in Scotland, as well as the way teams often play whilst in the Europa League.
Indeed, because Gerrard has chopped and changed his defence this season, the 22-year-old has been one of the men to find himself in and out of the Ibrox side, as he has made 11 appearances across all competitions so far.

For the hoofball that is Scottish football Katic is perfectly suited. Maybe Helander for teams who try and play football ie not Scottish football
